Visiting Volunteers
After a screening that includes an OPP Vulnerable Sector Check and a minimum of 2 reference checks, our volunteers complete the 30 Hour HPCO Hospice Volunteer Training Program before attending any in-home visits. They can provide:
Non-medical care
Practical Support (small tasks)
Spiritual and Emotional Support
Companionship
Respite for caregivers
Anyone can make a referral to us, including healthcare and social agencies, nurses, physicians, clergy, friends, the person who is ill or their families, referral form (PDF Client Referral Form) (Word Client Referral Form).
