Established in 1992, Dundas County Hospice provides services at no charge to those in Dundas County with life- threatening illness. An accredited member of Hospice Palliative Care Ontario, we strive to give our clients and their families the practical and supportive help they need.
Anyone living in Dundas County with life-threatening illness and is accepting of our services. Clients do not need to have a “Palliative” diagnosis.
We do not have Hospice beds. We offer our services in client’s homes, including long-term care, hospital, etc. Our weekly Day Program is currently being offered at our location (4353 County Road 31) in Williamsburg. Clients who are mobile enough to come (including wheel-chair bound) are transported to and from.
We offer a variety of services that clients and their families/caregivers can use as needed.
You can refer a friend, family member or yourself directly to our services or you may pass along our contact information to them or their family for them to contact us. Physicians, CCAC Care Coordinators, Discharge Planners, clergy, social workers, home-care workers, friends, anyone, can refer someone to our services.
When someone is diagnosed with life-threatening illness and would be accepting of our services. Our focus is on making every day count for our clients. We believe that Hospice Palliative Care can improve quality of life for clients and their families. Palliative Care is about living and celebrating life not death.
Services to clients and families are provided at no charge. DCH is a non-profit organization. About 60% of our budget is funded by the Ministry of Health through the Champlain LHIN. 40% is raised through In Memoriam and general donations, support from local service groups, grants and fundraising.
